I am a holistic health therapist
specializing in massage therapies. My
practice is located in Phillipsburg, New Jersey serving the
Skylands of
Northwest New Jersey, specifically the municipalities of Alpha,
Lopatcong, Phillipsburg, Pohatcong, and Stewartsville, in
Greenwich
Township.
As a holistic health therapist I use massage
therapy and fitness counseling to help people achieve and maintain
optimal levels of health and fitness. I promote health and fitness using
the holistic principle of balancing the three elements of human being,
the spirit, the mind, and the body. |
What is Holistic Health Therapy?
Holistic therapy is a system of non-invasive, drugless, illness and
injury prevention approach to health care. Although sometimes referred
to as alternative (sometimes as complementary) healthcare or
medicine, it is more appropriately referred to as primary healthcare.
Holistic Therapy is both health maintenance and illness prevention.
This, in its simplest terms, means being considerate of our bodies and
the environment that sustains it. This approach therefore encompasses
not only our selves but also our sustainer earth! Holistic
healthcare is comprised of Natural Medicine, and Alternative or
Complementary Medicine. |
What is Complementary Medicine?
Complementary medicine is Alternative healthcare used in conjunction
with (or complementary to) conventional modern medicine. For
example, using acupuncture to reduce the pain during the surgery instead
of anesthetics. What is Alternative Medicine?
Any healthcare measure used in place of (as an alternate to)
conventional modern medicine is alternative medicine. Alternative
medicine incorporates many different healing modalities. These
approaches to health care, such as naturopathy, chiropractic, Ayurveda,
homeopathy and acupuncture, are not normally taught as a part of
medical school curriculums.

What is Holistic Medicine?
Alternative healthcare very often takes into consideration the whole
person; the spirit, mind and body. Our bodies are
remarkable, being able to not only adapt to its own disabilities but
also most environments in which it is placed. Given enough time, and our
appropriate attention, our bodies can rebound from just about anything,
healing itself! This is without removing or drastically
modifying its parts! Holistic therapists (practitioners) treat the
"whole person", not just the symptoms, and attempt to find and treat the
root cause. We do this using diet, exercise
and our understanding of the body's amazing ability to
heal itself. We stress
health maintenance and illness prevention! |
